Mount Kalaga

Mount Kalaga anchors the northern edge of the map, a mountainous, heavily wooded region that's about as far from Vice City's skyline as Leonida gets, both geographically and in tone. It's rural in the specific way GTA likes to portray rural — backwoods terrain, isolated properties, and a landscape that suggests a very different way of life than anything happening on the coast. Series history is a useful guide here. Mountainous, sparsely policed terrain has consistently been where GTA puts its more remote hideouts, its stranger side characters, and its highest-elevation vantage points for the map — the kind of place a story sends someone when they need to lie low, or when the plot needs a dramatic overlook shot. The terrain itself is likely to shape how it plays as much as how it looks: winding elevation changes, dense tree cover, and roads that presumably thin out into dirt tracks the further from civilization you get. That's a meaningfully different driving and traversal experience than the flat grid of a city. Being positioned at Leonida's northern border also gives Mount Kalaga a natural role as the edge of the map narratively as well as geographically — the place where the state's usual rules feel like they apply a little less, for characters and players alike.
